NYE Traditions

For the past 27 , I've gotten together with a group of friends to golf. This started with a group of seven us that played sports together for a local bar...with each year, we'd invite others to join us and have a mini-tournament.

This year the tradition continued and we had about 40 people. I've known quite a few of the guys over half my life and lives get busy and we don't see each other often during the year - but come NYE, we know there will be a golf outing and time to catch up with friends.

What NYE tradition(s) do you have or used to have?

If you don't have one, what tradition would you like to start?

I wish everyone good health and prosperity in 2019!

Back when I was in L.A. me and a buddy had "the party house" so when an occasion arose like NYE, or the sun came up, there would be a party at our place. Many brain cell were destroyed and debauchery was a worthy goal and it was good.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

Triple R - sounds like a great time! I too shared a house with a few others for 4-5 years and from what I recall, we had a lot of fun.

You've never heard of tap radiation??? It's a new drink I invented last night, it helps me spell correctly...perhaps I need to tweak the ingredients a bit more. LOL

Watching fireworks is a good annual (not a tradition) thing to do - can you see them from your place?

Traditions for NYE have come and gone over the years, but the most recent one is spending it with my oldest granddaughter. When she was still a baby, she stayed with me while her parents went out with friends, and we have celebrated every NYE together ever since. (I know...I'm soooo exciting, lol)

I don't think she quite realizes this yet, but I know that someday it will be as big of a deal to her as it is to me.

That is a great tradition - hopefully it continues for many more years.
