A different take. God knows your heart...Of course god does, God created you in his/her own image and God implanted a piece of him/her-self in you. It's called your soul. God's is always with you in that way. You can fear it or draw strength and confidence from it.

My copy of Mere Christianity is just a few feet away in my falling-apart lawyers book cabinets. I really should buy new ones.

I'm not quite sure how I happened onto you blog or even if you are still actively blogging. But what I've read so far has me quite intrigued. I have, over the years, found highly intelligent women both intimidating and yet, for lack of a better descriptive, sexy. I once had a wonderful, short lived affair with a woman who, not being stupid, was quite happy at being widely unknowing/uneducated. It just wasn't in her nature to be anything other than enjoying the moment while wanting to secure her future. Not sure why I mentioned that.

I once worked in a world class/renowed laboratory. Two people that I found most enjoyable having conversations with were women and heads of their particular departments. H was married to her college professor who was maybe 20 yrs her senior. Double PhD. One of 200 people in the world who actually understood the basis for the experiments that we were spending hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars to research. She had absolutely no feminine traits about her either physically or sensually. But I loved when she afforded me moments personal converse. She was an amazing woman. Had kayaked the southern most tip of South America. She drove a single seat, twin turbo 911 Porsche. She dressed like a man and never combed her hair. But I relished being in her company despite being made to feel like an intellectual pigmy by her breadth of knowledge.

Then there was A. She was a PhD as well. Just one. But she got interested in another field and was able to merge it meaningfully with the course of the laboratory, quite successfully to the point where it was often put forward as a reason why our esoteric research was practically applicable as well. A also was married to a man older than herself. Though no where to the degree that H was, she too had some quirks about her. I believe much of that was due to her having once been a RC nun. She always wore dresses but also always looked out of place in them. A wasn't what I'd describe as unfeminine. I suppose it was that she was so matronly. An awesome figure. Amazonian even. But I never once felt any sense of sensuality in/from her when she would come to my office to just sit and talk. I think women of such high stature find comfort in men who act "normally" around. I know most of the other men I saw interacting in these two women were always kowtowing or snowballing them. I saw the foolishness of trying, even once, to snowball H.

LOL. I have. no idea where I'm going with this.

IMHO, Christianity is a system of truth that is completely closed to any sort of assimilation by other religions. (Although the RC system is nothing but assimilation). Of course I'm referring to biblical Christianity, not the religious denominations that have grown out of or out from the 1st C church. The difference with biblical Christianity from ALL other systems is that it does not involve merit. i.e. you don't have to nor are you required to earn favor with God to be accepted. Rather, you have to, by faith, accept what He has done for you. What other system of Truth has its founder dying in poverty to make His followers rich? None. Also, there is no other system which even offers an explanation for unity/diversity, for law, for love, for society. The construct of the uni-verse itself displays His nature. Space/mass(energy)/time. Mass cannot exist apart from being in space and a moment in time. Space is without meaning unless there is something existing within it at a moment in time. Time (my favorite chapter in Mere Christianity) requires something to exist in space for it to be measured. They are then a try-unity. What is fascinating is that each particular of that unity is a triad in and of itself. For instance, past, present and future. Or XYZ coordinates. Solid, liquid, gas.

You're great fun. Look forward to reading more of your blog.
